Let the "Games" Continue - NOT

The primaries are over and the usual suspects are in place.  Now the "games" begin in earnest.  The "games" are especially heinous here in Arizona.  This state is populated, politically, by closed-minded, bigoted, misogynistic, racist, money-grubbing, idiots who have Masters Degrees in Hatred! (read Republicans/Teabaggers.) They also have rings through their noses, to be led around by the Kochs and their minions; the Goldwater Institute made up of a cartel of right wing nut jobs who stick their noses up everybody's asses; and ALEC - that bastion of secrecy filled with self-serving global corporations and state legislators who conspire to rewrite laws to suit their needs and screw the local electorate.

During the primary 'season' all political ads I saw were full of nothing but crass, misleading, nasty, disgusting information which usually was untrue, shady, and full of non-information.  Those who mentioned what they would do for the state put forth ideas that never could possibly be implemented, mainly because those ideas were so far-fetched as to be laughable.  But, they were filled with buzz words, those words that prick the minds of the mindless, those sound bites the unintelligent throw around as if they know what they're taking about.

We will be bombarded with this gd-awful drivel for the next two months through TV ads, radio ads, newspaper ads, awful signs popping up everywhere like poisonous weeds on every street corner.  The few cogent and intelligent candidates who are running can only hope they will be heard amid the crap that will be spewed from every direction (read Republicans/Teabaggers.)

And the voices of the women, the elderly, the poor, the children, the Hispanics, the Blacks, the Native Americans, the workers, the 98%, those who are LGBT and the Dreamers will not be heard unless they start screaming louder than those (read the 1%) who want to wrest our democracy right out from under us.

This is a pathetic state of affairs.  It is way past time for Progressive Liberal Democrats and Independents to take a stand, say "ENOUGH" and make sure they get the hell out and vote the regressive and repressive Republicans out on their asses.

Arizona is a gorgeous state.  It would be perfect, except for the politics.  It's time to complete the perfection and make Arizona BLUE!

All of the above are what the GOP is all about.  They are not just conservative.  They are dangerously vicious, misogynistic, bigoted, racist, fascist individuals hell bent on destroying democracy as we know it, replete with stupidity, unable to understand the hell they are reigning on the United States citizenry, and happy to make this country into an oligarchy, creating a society based on two classes: those with money and power and those without and the chasm between the two is so wide it will be impossible to close or change unless the current lunatic-inspired GOP is decimated and reason and humanity seep back into those who still cling to what they think is conservative values.

As it stands now, the GOP has no values that relate to humanity.  They are simply bat-shit crazy.  May they all rot in hell.

ARE WE IN A TIME WARP?

As time goes by in this political season that I can only describe as being incendiary, I wonder why Republicans and Tea Party members have become so unbelievably unsound, so out of touch with the 21st century, unreasonable, unbalanced, unrealistic, backward, vulgar, and just genuinely miserable human beings. 

When did they become the advocates for blind hatred toward all those who either are not like them or who don't believe or agree with them?  How do they reconcile their professed belief in a small government while at the same time sticking their noses in the most private affairs of women? How can their Christian religious beliefs take precedence over everyone else's beliefs.  Why do they think theirs is the only belief system that must be followed?

On one hand, they profess to want to adhere to the Constitution.  On the other, they want to rip out the parts they think don't follow their warped beliefs.  They apparently want this country ruled as a theocracy.  I also think they don't understand what the word means.

Their disdain for education is beyond belief.  Their disdain for the rights of average Americans is beyond belief.  Their war on women is incomprehensible.  Their war on laws that keep us safe is incomprehensible.  Their war on the sick, the young and the elderly is incomprehensible.  Their war on science is incomprehensible.  They badmouth everything good that the Obama administration does

Everything that the Republican party stands for is detested by those who really love this country.  The Republican party seems hell bent on rolling back all the gains Americans have made in the last 60 years.  Women will become chattel, education and health care will only be for the rich, minorities will be discriminated against just as they had been so many years ago.  It is the way Republicans think.  It is what they want.  It is a devastating plan for the United States. 

They have twisted the meaning of much of what this country stands for:  freedom, patriotism, liberty, opportunity, equality, diversity, cooperation.  They are bigots, racists, 

We are heading toward a Taliban-like state if they ever take the reins of government.  They are a depressing group of hypocritical, misogynist nutjobs.  This country will not be a good place to live in if they get the power they seek.  It will be like living in the United States of Iran. 

Even with all this, I have hope that the American people won't let the Republicans ride roughshod over them, take away their rights, stomp on their ideas or their dreams or allow this country to go down the path to a theocracy or oligarchy.  I hope this will become a country for "the people", by "the people", and not run by the corporate masters who pull the strings of most Republican politicians.  

RANDOM THOUGHTS #1 ('cause there'll be more)

I actually love living here in Arizona.  The beauty of the state borders on incomparable.  The Arizona sunsets are glorious to behold. For someone who loves to capture natural beauty with her camera, this is a photographer's paradise.

The politics in this state, however, makes my skin crawl.  The nastiness and viciousness with which the legislators in this state attack the working class is beyond nuts.  Stomping on the rights of the weak is despicable.

It would be nice to have a governor who exhibits at least a modicum of intelligence.  Alas, Arizona does not have one.

My husband and I have surrounded ourselves with some of the nicest people since moving here.  We've been very fortunate in making friends with some very wonderful, kind, intelligent, caring, erudite, funny and loving people in all the places we have lived.  And having moved 16 times in 45 years, that's a lot.

Dogs are the most comforting four-legged creatures on the face of the earth.  I just look at the faces of my two beauties and my heart melts, my wrinkles disappear, my soul soars, my face breaks out in a huge smile and the giggles bubble up like a sprinkler gone wild!  Looking at my wonderful husband elicits the same reaction!!!!!

There are days when I read my Twitter timeline and I am enlightened, educated, exasperated, angered, and heartened.  There are an awful lot of people out there who are erudite, really intelligent, caring, active, sharing, progressive, enterprising, & engaging.  It's good for the mind.

I have much to be thankful for, not the least of which is pretty good health.  I wish everyone could enjoy good health.

For all the bad crap the U. S. is going through now, everything is cyclical.  The numb nuts and whack jobs won't prevail for very long (and you know who THEY are... hint:  begins with R.)  The sane group will always win in the end.  Amen.

I HAVE LOST MY PRIDE IN AMERICA

I cringe when I think of America now.  I cringe because people here are either insanely stupid, vicious, crackpots, intolerant, half-witted, boneheaded, easily led, unable to think critically, asinine, and/or dense.  After 8 years of this country being trashed and stomped to the ground by contemptuous Republicans  whose only thoughts were to lie us into war,  trample the rights and freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution, make sure Big Business and Big Pharma got as much money as possible while screwing the average person, and generally sinking the country into  a deep recession, the electorate is replete with imbeciles screaming that it's all the fault of Democrats because these massive problems haven't all been fixed already.

What, in god's name, do they want?  Like little spoiled brats these crazies are screaming, "I want it now!"  "I want everything to be fixed NOW!"  Like schoolyard bullies, they scream because things aren't going their way.  They keep screaming, "You lie" while they have perfected that action.  They deny, deny and deny even when the truth shows them lying.  They ignore the magnitude of the previous administrations screw-ups and blame them all on everyone else.  They are caustic, acerbic, sneering and derisive while offering absolutely nothing but screaming nasty epithets at anyone and anything that doesn't agree with them.

Republicans offer nothing but the same old tired crap.  They want to enrich their friends and keep the average American down.  They say things out of both sides of their collective mouths.  Their party is full of certifiable nuts.  They are the exact opposite of what this country is supposed to stand for:  freedom, democracy, tolerance.  And this group of crazies gets the most coverage through the MSM!  It's disgusting that they even exist.

Reasoned discourse has no place in their party.  They're against so many things that they have become the party of "Anti,"  anti-everything, unresponsive to the needs of the nation, damaging to the reputation of America as it is meant to be.

Republicans:  Take your balls and bats and go home and leave the fixing up of your mess to the grownup Democrats.
